  1. Installing Z.E.N.works on a tree with Z.E.N.works Beta
  2. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

  4. We highly recommend that you do not install Z.E.N.works over the top of the
  5. Alpha or Beta versions of Z.E.N.works due to schema differences between the
  6. versions.  We cannot guarantee that such an installation leaves your tree
  7. schema in the state necessary for Z.E.N.works to function properly.
  8.  
  9. However, if your tree has had the Beta version installed, you may use the 
  10. following instructions to prepare the tree for installing Z.E.N.works.

  14. Moving from Z.E.N.works Beta 1 (1/15/98) to Z.E.N.works: 
  15.  
  16.   1) Using NetWare Administrator, delete all "NT Computer System Policies", 
  17.        "95 Computer System Policies" and "Scheduled Action Policy" objects 
  18.        from the tree.  This might be easier to do if you use NWAdmn95 or 
  19.        NWAdmnNT, rather than the new NWAdmn32, since the policy objects show
  20.        up in their browsers.

  22.   2)  Remove the "NT Computer System Policies", "95 Computer System Policies"
  23.        and "Scheduled Action Policy" classes from the schema.  You must have
  24.        removed all instances of these classes from the tree (step 1) before
  25.        this operation will succeed.

  27.   These are all the steps that need to be performed to clean up the schema.
  28.   You should now install the final shipping product.  Note that all of the 
  29.   classes deleted in step 2 will be recreated by the final shipping product.
  30.   They are required to be deleted in the above process however so that the 
  31.   shipping product can change some of their schema settings.

  35. Moving from Z.E.N.works Open Beta (Beta 2, 2/27/98) to Z.E.N.works:

  37.   1) Using NetWare Administrator, delete all "Restrict Login Policy" objects
  38.        from the tree.  This might be easier to do if you use NWAdmn95 or
  39.        NWAdmnNT, rather than the new NWAdmn32, since the policy objects show
  40.        up in their browsers.

  42.   2) Using NDS Manager, remove the "Restrict Login Policy" class from the
  43.        schema. You must have removed all instances of this class from the
  44.        tree (step 1) before this operation will succeed.

  46.   3)  Remove the following attributes from the schema:  "WM:RL Inclusions"
  47.        and "WM:RL Exclusions".  You must have removed the class that use these
  48.        attributes from the schema (step 2) before this operation will succeed.

  50.   These are all the steps that need to be performed to clean up the schema.
  51.   You should now install the final shipping product.
